In the Eye of the Beholder

What is Art? Painting? Oils. Pastels. Watercolor?Something else?
Someone was painting a wall mural in the library hall outside the room where we had our October workshop. I thought their splattered clothes framed by the door window was art!

Abstract sculpture?
Art at the Tulsa Convention Center.
Art takes many forms.

Needle arts. This quilt was made in the 1800's. Stitched, quilted & embroidered by hand.
This shirt was machine embroidered in 2007 (by me!)

An art doll - my current 'work in progress'.

Belly dance zills (finger cymbals). A short-lived hobby, but quite an art!

Beautiful stained glass art in, of all places, Las Vegas.

Nature's art from one of Missouri's many caves.

Creating cards, an art I enjoy with a group of friends.

My husband would consider this to be high art!

And I'm pretty sure this would be art to my pastor.

What is art to you?

Saturday Morning

Ahhh....a sunny Saturday morning. And this is the first Sat. morning in 3 months that I don't have to be somewhere. Savor the moment.

Magnolia Snow Cones

Happy First Day of Spring to Oklahoma! We are celebrating with a snow storm that had the entire state under a weather watch. This bit of winter wonder followed right on the heels of two sunny days where the temp was in the low 70s. I could lament on & on about this never-ending winter, but it wouldn't garner much sympathy. Most of the country has had much worse and everyone else probably feels the same way. So, in the spirit of Pollyanna, we made the most of it! Knowing the storm was inevitable, we slept late this morning, went out for breakfast and then to early movie. This afternoon, hubby needed a book from his office; so remembering that I had seen the magnolia shrubs blooming, I grabbed my camera and went with him.
Carpe diem!

Blu Snow

Well, the snow is not blue, but my Afghan Hound, Blu2, is in these pictures. Kind of like a "Where's Waldo?" Can you spot him?
