In the Eye of the Beholder

What is Art? Painting? Oils. Pastels. Watercolor?Something else?
Someone was painting a wall mural in the library hall outside the room where we had our October workshop. I thought their splattered clothes framed by the door window was art!

Abstract sculpture?
Art at the Tulsa Convention Center.
Art takes many forms.

Needle arts. This quilt was made in the 1800's. Stitched, quilted & embroidered by hand.
This shirt was machine embroidered in 2007 (by me!)

An art doll - my current 'work in progress'.

Belly dance zills (finger cymbals). A short-lived hobby, but quite an art!

Beautiful stained glass art in, of all places, Las Vegas.

Nature's art from one of Missouri's many caves.

Creating cards, an art I enjoy with a group of friends.

My husband would consider this to be high art!

And I'm pretty sure this would be art to my pastor.

What is art to you?

I'm no expert by any means but I think art can be anything that brings one enjoyment or pleasure.
From the simplest things to the most complex every person can see beauty and art in almost any object. Great photos..thanks for posting !

I think art is something that touches the emotions of the viewer or listener. Beauty and Ugly can be the same thing - it is all perspective.
