Cloud Majesty

This was taken from my patio this evening. An incredible scene; this cloud was massive and impressive with lightning flashing inside & on top of it. It didn't seem to be moving at all, just sitting there like it was the throne of God, while a large, dark cloud moved over it. I wish I could have captured the majesty of the moment. It seemed to be saying, "the storms are all around but they can do no harm; I am in charge."

Old Trains Make Great Pictures

Just a few more pictures from my wanderings around Broken Arrow.

Across Main St from the Old Depot was one solitary train car. I saw an opportunity to get some close up shots of wonderful, industrial rust & dust.

I love rusty stuff. It makes great pictures. I'm tempted to do some lomo effects on these but I really just wanted to show the train in its natural state.

I had fun with this next picture on Facebook. Just posted the picture, no explanation. The responses were funny!

An upshot look at the old grain silo.

This stack of signs was posted on the silo. It was neat to get so close to something I've just passed by for years. And those signs? I'm thinking I should print this shot, laminate it & wear it as a warning lanyard some days.... like today!

A Snapshot of Main Street on the Prairie

Welcome to Broken Arrow, OK!

A wonderful old depot used to be at this spot when we moved here 30 years ago. Many attempts were made to restore it, but it was too far gone. They saved as much as possible, leaving the grain elevator, the RR tracks, building a museum and a pretty plaza where the depot stood. On the weekends, it becomes a farmer's market full of beautiful, locally grown produce.

Patriotism is part of prairie peoples' hearts.

This is Main St at about 7pm. Not exactly hoppin' but clean & safe. The city fathers have done a lot to spruce it up. Little shops, businesses, & restaurants are probably struggling more than the suburban shopping strips, but they're determined.

The Rooster Days Festival is still going strong!

There's something for everyone...

On the way home, I saw somebody enjoying a lazy ride above the country road.
