Ice Day Update

First of all, here is the scene of the crime. I have 3 good sizes bruises from slipping on the deck. 2 on my arm from hanging onto the porch pole for dear life & one on the hip where I literally 'hit the deck.' Yeee-ouch!It's been pelleting on & off all day. Pelleting means: not rain, not snow, but tiny little ice pellets. It makes an interesting sound. Just a few minutes ago, it actually turned to snow.

Blu doesn't know what to do when he goes out. He hears that tinkling sound & just stands in the middle of the yard listening, looking quite concerned.

Ice Storm Replay

The Weather Wizards are prognosticating a bad night. AAAAAAAAAAAAAgh!!!

We're all still traumatized by last year's ice storm. (this picture is from the Dec'07 storm)

On the bright side....my class was canceled tonight. That means I can stay home and watch......

Mirror, Mirror

A mirror hanging in my office.

24 Reasons

...why I LOVE 24:

1. Jack carries a magical manpurse. It has no bottom. Everything he could possibly need in any given situation is in there; including a change of clothes.
2. Jack can get anywhere in LA in 15 minutes. Traffic is no obstacle.

7. Jack’s been fired a lot. It never matters. They can’t do without him.
8. Jack’s hoodie is like an Elvish cloaking device.
9. Jack can hold his breath longer than Michael Phelps.
10. Jack can’t leap tall buildings at a single bound, but he can jump off them without breaking a bone.

12. Jack is a dynamic compact combo of Rambo, Arnold, JetLi, Dirty Harry, & Captain Kirk in one little blond guy - yet still in touch with his tender side.

Waiting For Summer

It was 84 degrees here Sunday. But January was backstage the whole time, waiting to make her debut. It wasn't as dramatic as last year, thank goodness. But that little taste of summer over the weekend makes the chill sting a bit more today!

During a recent discussion of music, my young friend made a comment so poetic I had to put it on my Random Quotes list. She loves music of all kinds; her taste covers the spectrum from jazz to indie rock. But U2, she said, is like the soundtrack of her life. I've been trying to think what my soundtrack would be. Interesting question, isn't it?
